How it works
It works by increasing the outflow of liquid, which lowers the pressure in the eye. It may be used on its own or with other drops e.g. beta-blockers, which also reduce pressure.
Usage And Safety
Dosage
Adults: 1 drop in the eye or eyes, once a day – in the evening . Children : Not recommended or as directed by your physician.
Side Effects
Ocular hyperaemia , pain and irritation , photophobia , visual disturbances , nervousness , dizziness , headache , changes in BP and heart rate , bronchospasms , rash , eye lash growth , darkening of periorbital skin and eyelids .
Drug Interactions
Calcium channel blockers , guanethidine , B-Blockers , anti-arrhythmics , digitalis glycosides , parasympathomimetics , clonidine .
Indication
Ocular hypertension or open angle glaucoma insufficiently responsive to beta blockers or prostaglandin analogues alone .
When not to Use
Do not use if you are allergic to prostaglandins or any of the other ingredients ; If you are pregnant, or might get pregnant.
Precautions
Precaution
If you wear soft contact lenses. Don’t use the drops with your lenses in. Wait 15 minutes after using the drops before putting your lenses back in. A preservative benzalkonium chloride can discolour soft lenses.

Avoid touching tip of applicator with eye .
Warning 2
Do not share medication with anyone else .
Warning 3
You may find that your vision is blurred for a time just after you use . Do not drive or use machines until this has worn off.
